Reports Say Wolfgang Grupp Is Home and Has Briefly Visited Trigema

Reports of a brief return follow his July disclosure of a suicide attempt linked to age-related depression.

Overview

  • Bild, cited by Focus Online and DerWesten, reports the 83-year-old left the clinic, has been back at home for about three weeks, and briefly visited Trigema to greet employees.
  • During the visit he was reportedly seen sitting at his former desk, according to the same tabloid-sourced account.
  • In a July letter obtained by DPA, he acknowledged a suicide attempt and attributed it to age-related depression, saying he wishes he could undo what happened.
  • He wrote that he feels as well as circumstances allow, thanked doctors and rescue and care workers, and noted that full recovery may take time.
  • Trigema’s day-to-day operations have been led by his children, Wolfgang Jr. and Bonita, since early 2024.
