Report Reveals Widespread Failures in Child Strip Searches by Police

Children's Commissioner finds nearly half of searches lack required adult presence; Black children disproportionately targeted.

  • One child strip-searched every 14 hours on average.
  • 45% of searches lacked confirmation of an appropriate adult's presence.
  • Black children are four times more likely to be strip-searched than white children.
