Overview

  • NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported Polk will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery after consulting multiple specialists, with a goal of returning fully healthy in 2026.
  • He re-injured the same shoulder on an end-around in New England’s first preseason game and has not practiced since.
  • The shoulder was initially hurt in Week 17 last season on a diving attempt, followed by offseason surgery, a limited spring, and an early-camp absence before a brief return.
  • The 2024 second-round pick appeared in 15 games as a rookie, recording 12 receptions for 87 yards and two touchdowns.
  • With Polk sidelined, the receiving group features Stefon Diggs, DeMario Douglas, Mack Hollins, Kayshon Boutte and Kyle Williams, while UDFA Efton Chism III is pushing for a roster spot ahead of the Sept. 7 opener against the Raiders.
