FOXBOROUGH, MA - JULY 28: Mike Vrabel head coach of the New England Patriots talks with Kyle Dugger #23 during training camp at Gillette Stadium on July 28, 2025 in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Overview

  • Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald reports both defenders are available, with Dugger already discussed with at least one team and Jennings raised in exploratory talks earlier this summer.
  • Dugger has slid to scout-team work behind Jabrill Peppers, Jaylinn Hawkins and rookie Craig Woodson after opening camp with starters.
  • Jennings has been overtaken by Keion White, free-agent additions Harold Landry III and K’Lavon Chaisson, and rookie Bradyn Swinson on the edge.
  • Defensive coordinator Terrell Williams called both players fits for the scheme, and personnel chief Eliot Wolf said he still sees a role for Dugger.
  • Dugger’s four-year, $58 million deal and Jennings’s three-year, $12 million contract frame decisions before the Aug. 27 cutdown, with trades or releases possible based on value and roster needs.
