Rep. Susan Wild Criticizes Constituents for Trump Support

Despite her comments, the Pennsylvania Democrat won her 2022 reelection bid and remains committed to her constituents.

Rep. Susan Wild (D-PA) criticized her constituents in Carbon County for their support of former President Donald Trump, referring to them as having 'drank the Trump Kool-Aid.'
Wild's comments were made during a Zoom call with fellow Pennsylvania lawmakers, including Rep. Matt Cartwright (D-PA) and Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA).
Carbon County, which overwhelmingly supported Trump in the 2016 and 2020 elections, was redrawn into Wild's 7th Congressional District in 2022.
Despite her criticism, Wild won her reelection bid in 2022 by less than 6,000 votes.
Wild stated that she is 'grateful' for her relationship with Carbon County voters and remains committed to working on their behalf in Congress.
