Rep. Jayapal's Verbal Slip During House Judiciary Committee Hearing Prompts Laughter

In discussing former President Trump's actions, Jayapal mistakenly says he 'incited an erection', quickly corrects to 'incited an insurrection'.

Democratic Rep. Pramila Jayapal of Washington made a verbal slip during a House Judiciary Committee hearing, mistakenly saying that former President Donald Trump 'incited an erection' instead of 'incited an insurrection'.
Jayapal's comment came during the committee's consideration of a resolution to hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress for defying a congressional subpoena as part of the House impeachment inquiry against President Biden.
Upon realizing her mistake, Jayapal laughed and corrected herself, saying, 'The president incited an insurrection.'
Republican Rep. Dan Bishop of North Carolina also joined in the laughter, saying, 'You can talk about that too, I guess.'
This is not the first time a Democrat has made this specific verbal slip; Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Rep. Adam Schiff have both previously made the same mistake.
