Pence's Departure Adds to Growing List of GOP Retirements

Rep. Greg Pence (R-Ind.), the older brother of former Vice President Mike Pence, announced he will not seek re-election to the House at the end of his term.
Pence was elected to the seat formerly held by his brother from Indiana’s 6th Congressional District in 2018.
Pence’s retirement follows more than two dozen pending or effective departures by other House Republicans this term.
Indiana Republican Reps. Jim Banks, Larry Buchshon and Victoria Spartz have also stated they will not seek re-election in 2024.
Pence's departure is the latest of several resignation or retirement announcements by Republican members of Congress in January.
