Pence's Departure Adds to Growing List of GOP Retirements
- Rep. Greg Pence (R-Ind.), the older brother of former Vice President Mike Pence, announced he will not seek re-election to the House at the end of his term.
- Pence was elected to the seat formerly held by his brother from Indiana’s 6th Congressional District in 2018.
- Pence’s retirement follows more than two dozen pending or effective departures by other House Republicans this term.
- Indiana Republican Reps. Jim Banks, Larry Buchshon and Victoria Spartz have also stated they will not seek re-election in 2024.
- Pence's departure is the latest of several resignation or retirement announcements by Republican members of Congress in January.
