Rep. Bill Posey Announces Retirement, Endorses Successor

Florida's GOP Rep. Bill Posey will not seek re-election, citing uncontrollable circumstances, and endorses former State Senate President Mike Haridopolos.

He has endorsed Mike Haridopolos, who he has mentored and believes embodies conservative values and a strong work ethic.
Haridopolos entered the race just before the filing deadline, following Posey's endorsement.
Posey's retirement adds to a growing number of GOP congressional departures ahead of the 2024 elections.
