Antje-Katrin Kühnemann, a prominent TV doctor and health show host, passed away at her home near Tegernsee shortly after her 80th birthday.
She celebrated her milestone birthday on February 22, 2025, with friends in St. Moritz, Switzerland, before her health declined further.
Kühnemann was best known for hosting 'Die Sprechstunde' on Bayerischer Rundfunk from 1973 to 2007, a program that provided health advice to viewers.
In recent years, Kühnemann had openly discussed her health struggles, including over 40 surgeries, breast cancer, and chronic pain, expressing readiness for the end of her life.
She began her television career in 1965 as Germany's youngest TV announcer while pursuing her medical degree, later becoming a respected figure in both medicine and media.
