Andre Braugher, renowned actor known for his roles in 'Homicide: Life on the Street' and 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine', has died of lung cancer at the age of 61.
Braugher's career was marked by his performances in police dramas, earning him respect and admiration from colleagues and audiences alike.
He was nominated for 11 Emmy Awards during his career, winning two, one of which was for his role as Detective Frank Pembleton in 'Homicide: Life on the Street'.
Braugher also had a notable movie career, with his last role being in 'She Said', a film about the New York Times’ exposé about the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse scandal.
He is survived by his wife, Ami Brabson, and their three sons, one of whom, Michael, also attended Juilliard and now has an acting career.
