Overview

• Work began on July 28 in Peshawar’s Qissa Khwani Bazaar under the Directorate of Archaeology and Museums’ supervision.
• The provincial government released Rs 70 million for structural and aesthetic restoration under a two-year plan backed by the World Bank.
• Restoration will return the early 20th-century colonial-era residences to their original condition.
• Both sites will be converted into museums showcasing Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor’s lives and careers.
• The initiative builds on a 2014 national heritage designation and aims to boost heritage tourism and create local employment.
