- The Deutscher Leichtathletik-Verband confirmed that the 2026 German Athletics Championships will take place July 24–26 at the modernized Lohrheidestadion in Bochum-Wattenscheid.

- The July 2025 renovation expanded capacity to 16,387 spectators and was inaugurated during the German U18/U20 Championships after hosting track events for the FISU World University Games.
