• The Deutscher Leichtathletik-Verband confirmed that the 2026 German Athletics Championships will take place July 24–26 at the modernized Lohrheidestadion in Bochum-Wattenscheid.
• The event marks the first senior national meet at the stadium since 2012, ending a 14-year hiatus for adult championships.
• The July 2025 renovation expanded capacity to 16,387 spectators and was inaugurated during the German U18/U20 Championships after hosting track events for the FISU World University Games.
• The championships will run in parallel with the Finals in Hannover, where 23 other sports will hold their national title events under a shared multi-sport framework.
