Reniec Sets Free DNIe Drives for Nov. 17–18 as New Rules and Pricing Take Effect

The drives prioritize vulnerable residents to expand access to services, accelerating Peru’s shift to secure digital identification.

Overview

  • Free in-person DNIe processing will be offered on Nov. 17 in Lagunas (Loreto) from 8:30 a.m. and Huaripampa (Junín) from 9:00 a.m., and on Nov. 17–18 in Maras (Apurímac) from 9:00 a.m.
  • Priority attention covers children 0–17, adults 60+, people with disabilities, and citizens in extreme poverty per SISFOH, with Maras also including ages 18–59 with a SISFOH socioeconomic file.
  • Slots are limited and served by order of arrival, so local authorities advise residents to come early to secure service.
  • Reniec confirms that from age 7 applicants no longer need to bring a printed photo because the image is captured at the office during the biometric process.
  • The DNIe 3.0 costs S/41 regularly but is available at S/30 for first-time applicants age 18+ through Dec. 31, 2025, and the traditional blue DNI will no longer be issued though it remains valid until its expiration date.
