RENIEC Launches Free DNIe Drive on Nov. 12 Across Peru

The effort prioritizes vulnerable residents to reduce obstacles to obtaining identification.

Overview

  • Municipal offices nationwide will host no-cost DNIe services primarily on November 12, with some locations also operating on November 11.
  • Available procedures include first-time registration, photo updates, renewals, conversion of yellow or blue DNI to DNIe 3.0, duplicates for loss or expiry, and data updates.
  • Local schedules include Palpa and Marcona (Nov. 11–12, 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.), San José (Nov. 10–12, 8:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.), Jauja (Nov. 12, 8:45 a.m.–4:00 p.m.), and Pichacani-Laraqueri (Nov. 12, 8:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.).
  • Participation rules commonly require minors to attend with a parent or legal guardian and to present the prior DNI or a copy or photo, with some sites asking for a utility bill to update domicile.
  • RENIEC has ended issuance of old-format DNIs in favor of DNIe 3.0, and an additional free campaign date is set for Colasay, Cajamarca on Nov. 27 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
