- RENIEC confirmed that applicants aged 7 and older no longer need to bring a printed photo, as the image will be captured and printed on-site.
- Children under 7 must still present a physical photo, and offices without live-capture service may require a printed image.
- Official photo rules include no white clothing, no smiling, ears uncovered, no head or face coverings, and no glasses.
- Remote renewal lets users update their photo through the RENIEC BioFacial app after paying online via Págalo.pe and then choose a pickup office on the RENIEC website.
- DNIe 3.0 is replacing blue and yellow IDs nationwide from August 28 to December 31 with promotional fees of S/30 (standard) and S/41 (electronic), extended validity of 10 years for adults and 3 years for children up to 12, and more than one million cards already issued.
