Overview
- Renault confirmed a 1,008 km single-charge run on December 18 at UTAC’s Moroccan proving ground, completed in 9 hours 52 minutes at a 102 km/h average.
- The car recorded 7.8 kWh/100 km energy use and finished with 11% state of charge, which Renault says equated to roughly 120 km of additional range at test speed.
- Engineers cut the drag coefficient from about 0.40 to 0.30, kept mass to roughly 1,000 kg, and used steer- and brake-by-wire, extensive carbon and 3D-printed components, and bespoke low-rolling-resistance Michelin tyres.
- The attempt covered 239 laps with three drivers rotating — Laurent Hurgon, Constance Léraud-Reyser and Arthur Ferrière — with only brief technical stops and driver changes.
- The Filante is a one-off single-seater not slated for production, and Renault says the data will guide efficiency gains in future road-going EVs.
