Renault Unveils Sixth-Generation Clio With Sleeker Design and New 160hp Hybrid

The launch underscores Renault’s plan to keep Clio as a hybrid- and petrol-led volume car, with pure-electric duties handled by the Renault 5.

Overview

  • Revealed in Munich, the Clio 6 grows longer and wider and adopts Emblème-inspired styling with a diamond-pattern grille, coupe-like rear, and hidden rear door handles.
  • The new E‑Tech 160 full hybrid targets 89 g/km CO2 and can run electrically for most urban driving, joined by a 1.2‑litre 115 hp petrol and an LPG option in select markets.
  • Renault says the hybrid system was developed with Horse Powertrain (the RenaultGeely JV) and quotes 0–100 km/h in about 8.3–8.5 seconds depending on source.
  • Higher trims add dual 10-inch V-shaped displays with Google built-in, over-the-air updates, and up to 29 driver-assistance features including Emergency Stop Assist, Safety Score and Safety Coach.
  • Production continues in Bursa, Turkey, as Renault keeps pricing under wraps and signals orders before year-end with deliveries guided to start this year, though some outlets report later on-sale timing; no full EV version is offered at launch.
