Renault Launches Turbocharged Triber in India

The compact seven-seat MPV gains Renault’s 1.0‑litre HR10 turbo to offer stronger performance without changing its equipment or safety kit.

Overview

  • Renault has priced the Triber Turbo from Rs 7.84 lakh to Rs 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom), which is about Rs 94,000 to Rs 1.11 lakh higher than equivalent naturally aspirated Triber trims.
  • The Turbo uses the HR10 1.0‑litre three‑cylinder turbo petrol engine shared with the Kiger and Duster; Autocar reports 100 hp and 180 Nm and a claimed 0–100 kph time of 10.8 seconds.
  • Earlier pre-launch coverage cited lower figures (around 99 bhp and 160 Nm), so published outputs differ across reports and may reflect different engine tuning or management software.
  • The Turbo is sold with a 5‑speed manual now and a CVT automatic is promised soon, and Renault says it has retuned ABS, ESC and traction‑control settings specifically for the Turbo variant.
  • There are no substantive design or feature changes versus the regular Triber; it keeps the seven‑seat layout, an 8‑inch touchscreen, six airbags, ESP, TPMS and the model’s four‑star Global NCAP result, giving buyers a higher‑performance option in a niche compact MPV segment.
