Renault Launches 2026 Kwid With Two-Trim Lineup and Lower Prices

The update simplifies buying for first-time, budget customers through a pared-down range, online cash incentives and an authorised CNG retrofit.

Overview

  • Renault India launched the 2026 Kwid on July 3, 2026 with a trimmed range of two trims—Evolution and Climber—available with five-speed manual or five-speed AMT transmissions.
  • Ex-showroom prices start around Rs. 4.52–4.53 lakh for the Evolution and go up to about Rs. 5.60 lakh for the Climber, with a Rs. 15,000 online cash benefit that brings the Climber MT’s effective transactional price to about Rs. 4.99 lakh.
  • The update is cosmetic and retail-focused: the Kwid carries Renault’s new 3D logo, redesigned two-tone wheel covers and a new three-spoke steering wheel while retaining the same 1.0-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated engine and gearbox options.
  • Safety and low-running-cost options were strengthened with the Evolution offered with dual front airbags and the Climber upgraded to six airbags, plus an authorised CNG retrofit for manual models priced at roughly Rs. 70,450 with a 3-year/1 lakh km warranty and dealer installation.
  • Renault framed the move as part of a short-term push in India by announcing 12 product 'actions' over the next 18 months, a cadence intended to keep the brand visible to first-time and budget buyers in a competitive entry-level hatchback market.
