Overview
- Island Records will release Mud, an 11-track third studio album by Remi Wolf, on Oct. 9 and the lead single “Twiggy” is already out with the song “Bottle” scheduled to follow.
- Wolf says the record felt like a cleansing, and she described finishing the sessions as moving from feeling “covered in shit” to feeling “clean and clear.”
- The album grew from early sessions in Nashville to a retreat in Big Bear where Wolf, longtime collaborator Jared Solomon and friends formed a spontaneous “family band” that wrote and ate meals together.
- Recording later moved to Electric Lady Studios in New York and concluded in Joshua Tree with much of the material tracked live in the same room and Wolf frequently playing drums.
- The release arrives as Wolf expands her profile through major festivals, touring support for big artists and a recent cameo on Amazon Prime Video’s Off Campus, which could broaden the album’s reach.
