Remedy’s Control Resonant Launch Patch Cuts Enemy Health and Boosts Player Power

Remedy says the day-one update will speed up early combat by lowering enemy health, reducing Falter thresholds, easing respecs, and increasing player damage ceilings.

Overview

  • Remedy released Control Resonant on Thursday and deployed a day-one hotfix to address widespread reports that early fights felt slow because enemies had high health and Falter (stun) thresholds.
  • The patch reduces base enemy health and required Falter values for most foes, including the early bosses the Dancer and the Deserter, while raising the maximum Aberrant (weapon) and Ability strength players can reach.
  • To encourage build experimentation the update permanently lowers the cost to respec, boosts vendor stock of Reset Items, and makes the opening boss drop two Reset Items instead of one.
  • Control Resonant ships with a detailed Assist Mode of sliders that let players tune enemy aggression, incoming and outgoing damage, Falter buildup, power recovery, and more without locking achievements.
  • Console users saw a small download for the patch while some PC pre-loaders were forced to reinstall the full game, an issue Remedy apologized for, and the studio says it will continue monitoring feedback as the game holds roughly an 84/100 Metacritic score and physical editions arrive October 15.
