Remains of Two Naval Aviators Killed in Training Crash to Return Home

The aviators died when their EA-18G Growler jet crashed in a remote area of Washington state, with the cause still under investigation.

Lt. Serena Wileman and Lt. Cmdr. Lyndsay Evans lost their lives in the crash east of Mount Rainier on October 15.
The crash occurred at approximately 6,000 feet in a steep, densely wooded area.
Evans was part of the historic all-female flyover at Super Bowl LVII in 2023, marking 50 years of women in Navy aviation.
Wileman joined the Electronic Attack Squadron, known as 'Zappers,' in 2021 and was recognized with several military honors.
The EA-18G Growler, involved in the crash, is designed for tactical jamming and electronic protection.
