Remains of Korean War MOH Recipient Identified After 73 Years

The remains of Corporal Luther H. Story, who went missing in action during the Korean War, have been identified using DNA and forensic analysis.
Story was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for sacrificing his life to save his fellow soldiers during an attack by North Korean forces in 1950.
Story's remains were disinterred in June 2021 and identified in a joint effort by the U.S. and South Korea.
Leaders from both countries honored Story's heroism and sacrifice in a ceremony at the Korean War Memorial in Seoul.
Story's surviving niece and her husband met with the presidents of South Korea and the United States.
