Reliance Launches Meta JV and Dedicated Google Cloud Region to Power India’s AI

Reliance aims to scale enterprise AI by combining Meta’s Llama models with Google Cloud compute hosted in Jamnagar.

Overview

  • At its 48th AGM, Reliance announced a joint venture with Meta to build Llama‑based enterprise AI platforms for Indian businesses and select global markets.
  • The JV carries an initial investment of about Rs 855 crore ($100 million) with a 70:30 split in favor of Reliance, pending regulatory approvals and targeted to close in Q4 2025.
  • The platform will offer Enterprise AI PaaS so organisations can customise, deploy, and govern generative models for functions such as sales, marketing, IT, customer service, and finance.
  • Deployment options will include cloud, on‑premises, or Reliance infrastructure with a focus on lower total cost of ownership and preconfigured solutions for cross‑functional and sector‑specific needs.
  • Reliance also expanded its Google Cloud partnership to create an AI‑focused cloud region in Jamnagar using Google’s AI hypercomputer and stack, powered by Reliance’s green energy and Jio’s high‑capacity network to serve enterprises, SMBs, startups, developers, and public sector organisations.
