Regional Maize Labyrinths Open With New Hours, Events and Tiered Pricing

New hours, site changes, tiered fees aim to ease parking, noise, crowding

Overview

  • The Münchberg and Seligweiler maize labyrinths opened on Saturday, 25 July, with Münchberg bringing its planned start forward from 31 July because the corn grew faster than expected.
  • Münchberg has set fixed opening hours roughly from 09:00 to 20:00, returned to its prior site with expanded parking, and is using trust-based entry fees of €3 for children, €5 for youths and €7 for adults.
  • Seligweiler began its 28th season on 25 July on a 1.6-hectare field of about 180,000 plants with 1,600 metres of paths; it runs daily through 13 September and will host sampling days and a Horror Night on 28 August.
  • Both sites offer family attractions such as stamped scavenger hunts, viewing platforms and bouncy castles while scheduling special evening events like Münchberg’s Long Night of Lights and a Gruselnacht on 19 September.
  • Organizers say the new rules respond to crowd, parking and neighbour concerns so visitors should check posted hours and prices before visiting because changes may affect access and seasonal closing dates.
