RCMP say the counts follow a Sept. 12 incident on Highway 39 near Weyburn in which gunfire struck two vehicles.

  • Police identified the accused as Chris Fahlman, 42, of Regina, and said the charges are allegations at this stage.
  • Fahlman faces counts of manslaughter, careless use of a firearm, carrying a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence, and occupying a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm inside.
  • He is scheduled to appear in Regina Provincial Court on Monday, with RCMP planning a media availability about the case.
  • The victim was 44-year-old Tanya Myers, who died in the passenger seat of an SUV after the driver reported hearing a loud bang.
