Regina Halmich Honored with 'Goldene Narrenschelle' for Her Boxing Comeback

The former world champion was recognized for her entertaining bout with Stefan Raab and her social advocacy work.

Regina Halmich, former professional boxing world champion, received the 18th 'Goldene Narrenschelle' award from the Vereinigung Schwäbisch-Alemannischer Narrenzünfte (VSAN).
The award acknowledges her September 2024 exhibition match victory over TV entertainer Stefan Raab, marking his TV comeback.
VSAN praised Halmich for embodying the spirit of humor and for her significant social contributions, including advocacy against violence toward women and support for children’s charities.
She is only the third woman to receive this honor since the award's inception in 2006, joining a list of prominent past recipients like Thomas Gottschalk and Markus Söder.
The award ceremony took place in Rust, Germany, with Interior Minister Thomas Strobl delivering a poetic tribute to Halmich's achievements.
