Overview

• A TfL double-decker bus collided with a man in his 80s and a cyclist near St Margaret Street in central London at 12:52pm on Monday, July 28.
• The pedestrian was treated at the scene and taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition, though officials now describe his injuries as life-changing.
• A cyclist was also knocked down and a second person received minor injuries before being discharged at the scene.
• No arrests have been made as the Metropolitan Police lead an investigation alongside Transport for London and bus operator Transport UK.
• Bus services on key routes including numbers 7, 12, 22, 73 and 453 remain diverted pending a review of safety protocols.
