  • The screenplay for The Batman: Part II was officially finished on June 27 when Matt Reeves and co-writer Mattson Tomlin shared confirmation and Variety verified the completion.
  • DC Studios has green-lit script-driven pre-production, initiating location scouting, set design and scheduling ahead of the October 1, 2027 release.
  • Robert Pattinson, Andy Serkis, Jeffrey Wright and Colin Farrell are all confirmed to reprise their roles in the sequel.
  • The film will be released under DC’s Elseworlds label, keeping Reeves’ standalone Epic Crime Saga separate from the main DC Universe continuity.
  • DC Studios co-head James Gunn has publicly defended Reeves’ deliberate writing process and urged fans to allow the director the necessary time to perfect the screenplay.
