Overview

  • Cincinnati reinstated right-handers Chase Burns and Graham Ashcraft from the 15-day injured list on Thursday.
  • To clear roster space, the Reds optioned right-handers Lyon Richardson and Yosver Zulueta to Triple-A Louisville.
  • Burns returned from a Grade 1 right flexor strain after being placed on the IL on Aug. 15 and will be used out of the bullpen.
  • Ashcraft came back from a right forearm strain that sidelined him since Aug. 24 and resumes his relief role after posting a 3.72 ERA in 53 appearances.
  • Following a two-of-three series win in San Diego, Cincinnati sits two games behind the Mets for the final NL Wild Card spot.
