Reddit Launches New Chat Channels to Bring Users Together

Reddit is testing Discord-like chat channels with select subreddits to give more avenues for community members to interact with each other.
Reddit has launched chat channels on 25 volunteer subreddits.
Chat channels are a new way to message within a particular subreddit.
The idea is for chat channels to be a dedicated space that persist within a subreddit.
Chat channels will have a "mod-first approach" with more options available to moderators.
