Redcar Petrol-Bomb Attack: Carl Wild Jailed for 13 Years and 6 Months as Co-Defendants Sentenced

The Teesside Crown Court punishments follow guilty pleas over a February bar attack that left a bystander with severe burns.

Overview

  • Carl Wild received 13 years and six months in prison plus a five-year extended licence for grievous bodily harm with intent, aggravated burglary and criminal damage.
  • Simone Reed was jailed for two years and eight months for assisting an offender in the commission of a crime connected to the attack.
  • Lee Wild was given an 18-week term for a public order offence and is set for release due to time already served.
  • Prosecutors said Wild and Reed were captured on CCTV buying petrol, bleach and rags before Wild threw a lit bottle that ignited a man outside Peggy June’s in Redcar on February 15.
  • The court heard the victim sustained third-degree burns as Wild also squirted bleach, attacked the DJ with a car jack and fled in his brother’s Range Rover.
