RedBird IMI Close to £1bn Deal for All3Media
Potential takeover unlikely to provoke same level of regulatory scrutiny as Telegraph deal
- Abu Dhabi-backed investment group RedBird IMI is in advanced negotiations to purchase UK's largest independent TV production group, All3Media, in a deal worth around £1 billion.
- All3Media, which is jointly owned by Warner Bros Discovery and Liberty Global, was put up for sale earlier this year.
- Potential buyers such as Banijay, ITV, Goldman Sachs, and Sony have shown interest but backed out due to the high asking price.
- All3Media reported revenues of more than £1 billion and profits of more than £100 million in 2022.
- RedBird IMI's potential takeover of All3Media is unlikely to provoke the same level of political and competition concerns as its deal to take control of the Telegraph and Spectator magazine.
