Overview
- The Red Sox announced Tuesday they signed T.J. Sikkema to a minor-league deal and invited him to major-league spring training.
- Boston also extended non-roster invites to Jason Delay, Vinny Capra, Osvaldo Berrios, Hobie Harris, Devin Sweet and Alec Gamboa.
- Sikkema, 27, was drafted 38th overall by the Yankees in 2019 and was dealt to the Royals in 2022 in the Andrew Benintendi trade.
- He reached Triple A with the Reds in 2025, going 2–1 with a 3.45 ERA in five games (four starts) for Louisville after a midseason promotion.
- Several invitees bring upper-level experience, including Delay’s MLB time with Pittsburgh, Harris’ 2023 stint with Washington, Sweet’s 2023 appearances with Seattle and Oakland, and Gamboa’s 2025 season in the KBO.
