Overview

  • Boston placed Hendriks on the 15-day injured list on May 30, retroactive to May 28, with right hip inflammation.
  • The club recalled reliever Nick Burdi from Triple-A Worcester to shore up a thin bullpen.
  • Hendriks has struggled this season, posting an 0-2 record with a 6.59 ERA in 14 appearances after a delayed debut caused by a compressed nerve in his right forearm.
  • The 36-year-old returned this April after missing all of 2024 recovering from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma treatment and Tommy John surgery.
  • Burdi is 4-0 with four saves and a 0.48 ERA in 15 Triple-A outings and yielded four hits and one walk over 2⅓ innings in two earlier major league stints this season.
