Red Sox Invite Top Prospects Anthony, Campbell, and Mayer to Spring Training

Boston's highly ranked farm system highlights its future stars with nine non-roster invites for the 2025 preseason.

Roman Anthony, ranked the No. 2 prospect in baseball, joins spring training after a breakout 2024 season, including a .344 batting average in Triple-A Worcester.
Kristian Campbell, ranked No. 4 among prospects, impressed across three minor league levels in 2024 and may compete for Boston's second base vacancy this spring.
Shortstop Marcelo Mayer, a former No. 4 overall draft pick, will make his Triple-A debut in 2025 after injuries limited his playing time last season.
The Red Sox also invited six other players, including recently signed infielder Abraham Toro and pitchers Jovani Morán and Jacob Webb.
Boston's spring training begins February 12 in Fort Myers, with games starting February 21 against Northeastern University.
