Overview
- On the night of August 6-7, vandals splattered red paint and anti-Zionist graffiti reading slogans such as “Palestine vivra, Palestine vaincra,” “Fuck Zionism” and “El Al Genocide Airline” across El Al’s Paris offices in the Marais district.
- Transport Minister Miri Regev called the act a “barbaric and violent act” and urged French authorities to locate and prosecute those responsible.
- Ambassador Joshua Zarka described the defacement as a terror-style assault intended to intimidate El Al employees and Israeli citizens in France.
- El Al confirmed the building was empty at the time, emphasized that no staff were harmed and denounced all forms of violence, particularly antisemitism.
- The incident follows June’s green paint attacks on Jewish sites in Paris and heightens tensions over France’s plan to recognize a Palestinian state at the United Nations in September.
