Overview
- The Red Arrows touched down over Ryde at 11:45 am on Sunday after looping from Bournemouth via the English Channel for their Isle of Wight Armed Forces Day display.
- Flight operations now shift to the Headcorn Battle of Britain Airshow with the squadron scheduled to depart Bournemouth before calling in at Southend en route to Kent.
- The weekend tour opened June 28 with multiple daytime displays across Lincolnshire, the East Midlands and Cambridgeshire, culminating in a 7:04 pm arrival at Hurn Airport following a flypast from RAF Waddington.
- The performances form part of the UK’s Armed Forces Day programme, designed to engage communities, support defence diplomacy and boost RAF recruitment.
- Based at RAF Waddington, pilots fly up to three Hawk T1 sorties daily under rigorous route planning, safety briefings and cloud-base–adapted routines.
