Overview

  • Approximately €2.9 million in gold, jewelry and cash recovered in March during joint German-Serbian operations has been sent back to Germany for distribution to Reinbek victims.
  • A 53-year-old suspect, who held a safe deposit box in Reinbek, was found in Serbia with most of the stolen valuables and a firearm.
  • Items uncovered in Serbia that are not yet linked to the Reinbek heist have been temporarily confiscated by order of the Amtsgericht Lübeck to secure compensation.
  • In June, the Lübeck Regional Court sentenced a 32-year-old man to three and a half years in prison for his role in the September 2024 vault break-in.
  • Investigators are working to match specific recovered items to their rightful owners and to track down the remaining suspects involved in the robbery.
