Record-Holding Sherpa Guide Scales Mount Everest for 28th Time

Kami Rita Sherpa regained his title for the most climbs of Mount Everest after achieving his 27th and 28th successful summits.
Fellow Sherpa guide Pasang Dawa matched Kami Rita's record by also summiting 27 times.
The Sherpa guides help foreign climbers scale the dangerous peak, where 11 deaths have been reported so far this season.
Kami Rita first climbed Everest in 1994 and has gone nearly every year since.
Mount Everest's harsh conditions and extreme altitude make scaling the mountain a perilous feat, even for the most experienced climbers.
