Overview
- The total rose about 2% from 2023, when 60,268 incidents were recorded.
- More than 66,000 people were victimized at home, with over half of cases involving bodily injury and roughly a quarter involving threats, coercion or stalking.
- Women accounted for 71% of victims, and two-thirds of incidents were classified as partner violence, in which four out of five victims were female.
- Investigators reported 32 killings by partners or ex-partners, including 29 women, and 19 additional deaths in family conflicts.
- Police say more reporting is driving the increase but a large unreported caseload persists, prompting calls for stronger protection and support structures.
