Overview

  • Crown Estate registered a £1.1 billion profit in the year to March, more than doubling from two years earlier.
  • Under the 12 percent funding formula, that performance lifts the Sovereign Grant for 2025/26 from roughly €100 million to a forecasted £132 million.
  • A further €107 million is scheduled to phase into the Sovereign Grant by 2027 under its established calculation method.
  • The Grant financed key 2024/25 outlays including a €430 million Buckingham Palace renovation, €5.5 million in royal travel and €35 million in staff salaries.
  • Private incomes remain separate from the Grant, with Charles and Camilla supported by the Duchy of Lancaster and Prince William receiving around €27 million from the Duchy of Cornwall.
