Record Crowds Turn Out for Manises’s 100th Cabalgata de la Cerámica

Organizers distributed a special centenary plate, adding new batches of ceramics to floats on the go to offset breakages.

  • The centenary parade honored Saints Justa and Rufina’s 100 years as patron saints of Manises with a limited-edition commemorative plate.
  • The procession set off at 7 PM from Molino de la Luz and wound through Calle Masía de la Cova to Avenida Blasco Ibáñez.
  • Organizers from the Clavaría de las Santas Justa y Rufina and the Ayuntamiento de Manises distributed about 45,000 pieces of local pottery.
  • Huge crowds streamed out of the metro station, with many attendees bringing shopping carts to carry home as many ceramics as possible.
  • Ashtrays and appetizer bowls proved the most common items, while trays, jugs, mortars and mugs also circulated among spectators.
