Record-Breaking Migrant Encounters at Southern Border Continue

Biden administration suggests amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants, threatens to sue Texas over state law.

December saw the highest-ever monthly total of migrant encounters at the southern border, with 276,000, breaking September’s record of 269,735.
Since October 1st, the country has let in 760,000 illegal migrants.
Fiscal 2023 saw a total of more than 3.2 million encounters nationwide.
During a recent meeting with Mexico, the Biden administration agreed to foster “orderly, humane, and regular migration” with Mexico and suggested giving amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants already in the U.S.
The Biden administration has threatened to sue Texas over a state law that will allow state officials to arrest illegal immigrants who cross into Texas.
