Michigan and Georgia Bulldogs Prepare for Active Transfer Window Amidst High-Profile Quarterback Moves

Day 1 of the winter transfer portal window saw a record-breaking number of roster attrition for teams throughout the sport, with a total of 532 FBS scholarship players entering the portal, a 16 percent increase from last year.
Michigan football is preparing for a more active transfer window as it stands to lose key players at virtually every position, with a focus on defensive back, offensive line, defensive line/edge, wide receiver, and quarterback positions.
Georgia Bulldogs are also expected to be more active in the transfer portal this year, targeting four positions in particular: receiver, defensive line, edge rusher, and running back.
Several high-profile quarterbacks, including Ohio State's Kyle McCord, Oklahoma's Dillon Gabriel, and Georgia's Brock Vandagriff, have entered the transfer portal, shaking up the quarterback market.
Despite the high number of entries, there are no immediate winners as the recruitments are just getting started and the process of sorting through hundreds of players in a matter of hours is not easy.
