Recoleta Cultural Center Marks 45 Years With Four New Exhibitions

The program spotlights its 1979–1983 redesign by Bedel, Benedit, Testa that shaped the institution.

Overview

  • The Centro Cultural Recoleta opens four shows today at 18:00 as part of its 45th anniversary program.
  • The centerpiece, Artistas y arquitectos. Bedel, Benedit y Testa, curated by Cecilia Rabossi in salas 7–9, revisits the architectural conversion that created the CCR from the former General Viamonte asylum.
  • Lo que arrastra la corriente in sala 4, curated by Mercedes Lozano and Violeta González Santos, explores water and rivers as public space, human right and affective territory with works by María Daud, Agustín Míguez and Inés Tillous.
  • Ombligo in sala 10 presents large-format painting and soft sculpture by Jazmín Kullock and Porkeria Mala under Nicolás Cuello’s curatorship, while Punto de mira in sala 13 features María Martha Pichel’s geometric target paintings curated by Laura Isola.
  • Día de Muertos celebrations run Nov 1–2 with free entry by order of arrival, and the new exhibitions can be visited at Junín 1930 from Tuesday to Friday 12:00–21:00 and on weekends and holidays 11:00–21:00.
