Receita Federal Opens Query to Final IR 2026 Refund Batch

The release reflects faster automated processing that cut regular refund runs to four, concentrating most payments earlier in the year.

Overview

  • Receita Federal released the query for the fourth and final refund batch on Monday, August 24, showing 521,935 taxpayers eligible for a total of R$1.24 billion.
  • Those refunds are scheduled for credit on August 31 to the bank account or CPF Pix key listed on each return, with the Banco do Brasil holding failed deposits for up to one year and offering a portal and phone service to reschedule payments.
  • The batch includes priority allocations across groups: 16,850 for people 80 or older, 86,873 for those 60–79, 9,029 for people with disabilities or serious illness, 26,769 for teachers, 338,912 for users of prefilled returns or Pix, and 43,502 non-priority cases.
  • This year the Receita reduced regular refund runs from five to four and said faster processing and new automation tools concentrated about 80% of refunds in the first two batches.
  • Taxpayers can check eligibility via the Receita site, the mobile app or e-CAC (full processing statements require a gov.br account at silver or gold level) and must file a corrected return to resolve any withholdings in the tax audit process.
