Rear Passenger Arrested After Officers Dragged During Colorado Springs Traffic Stop

Police later discovered the suspect had active arrest warrants.

CSPD says officers stopped a vehicle around 11 p.m. on Jan. 26 in the 500 block of North Murray Boulevard.
During the stop, the driver was removed for further investigation, creating an opening inside the vehicle.
Police identify the rear passenger as 32-year-old Anthony Lofton, who moved into the driver’s seat when contacted.
Lofton attempted to drive away, briefly dragging two officers several feet before they subdued him and halted the car.
He was booked on first-degree assault on a peace officer, and authorities report both officers were injured with no details released on severity.
