RealWear Acquires Swiss AR Startup Almer to Expand Industrial Wearables

The acquisition aims to enhance RealWear’s position in the industrial augmented reality market with support from TeamViewer.

RealWear, a US-based company specializing in rugged AR headsets, has acquired Swiss startup Almer Technologies, known for its Arc-2 headset.
The Arc-2 headset allows industrial workers to receive remote assistance by overlaying digital information onto their field of view.
Almer, founded in 2021, has raised $8 million and serves clients like Coca-Cola, Ford, and Samsung.
TeamViewer, a major player in enterprise AR software, financially backed the acquisition and holds a minority stake in both companies.
The acquisition is part of RealWear's strategy to scale globally and integrate Almer’s innovative subscription-based hardware renting model.
