'Real Housewives' Star Shannon Beador Formally Charged with DUI, Hit-and-Run

'Real Housewives' star had blood alcohol content three times legal limit during incident; enters outpatient wellness program with alcohol component after charges.

  • 'Real Housewives of Orange County' star Shannon Beador was formally charged with one count of Driving Under Influence (DUI) and one count of hit-and-run, both misdemeanors. She was arrested after driving into a Newport Beach home and exited the scene.
  • Beador was discovered by police pretending to be walking her dog after parking her car in the middle of the road. At the time of arrest, Beador had a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) of .24%, more than three times the legal limit.
  • After the incident, Beador enrolled in an outpatient behavioral wellness program with an alcohol-based component. Despite the charges, she is expected to continue her participation in 'Tres Amigas' comedy shows with fellow Bravo stars Tamra Judge and Vicki Gunvalson.
  • Following her charges, Beador expressed through social media that she intends to be 'open, honest and authentic' when the time comes to comment on the incident. For now, she is focusing on getting healthy.
  • Beador's attorney, Michael Fell, remarked that Beador is 'extremely apologetic and remorseful' and is prepared to take full responsibility for her actions. Fellow RHOC co-stars and friends have expressed shock at the incident and support for Beador's recovery.
